Next concert: English Greats

Walton's dramatic first symphony cemented his reputation as one of Europe's finest composers, drawing critical comparison to his great predecessor Edward Elgar, whose worldwide fame was set with Enigma Variations, the charming, witty, and ultimately moving portraits of his closest friends. Britten's exact and brilliant re-workings of old folksongs kicks off this celebration of all things English.

Pre-concert talk: Conductor, James Lowe, will be giving a pre-concert talk in the Victoria Rooms at 6.45pm. This is open to all and entry is free. The talk will offer an insight into the music, highlighting key aspects, to allow greater enjoyment of the music.
