James Lowe returns to conduct NBS for a programme including Shostakovitch's 7th Symphony "Leningrad". Inspired by the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War, which besieged Leningrad in 1941, this Symphony was hailed as an historic event at its first performance and was described as a national song of defiance and heroism.

  • Sibelius: Lemminkainen's Return
  • Shostakovitch: Symphony No. 7 "Leningrad"

The ticket prices will be:

  • £13 (£11 concessions) balcony
  • £10 adults (£8 concessions) front stalls
  • £7 adults (£5 concessions) rear stalls under the balcony (unreseved)

James will be presenting a pre-concert talk at 6.45pm. This is open to all and entry is free.
